Each year the importance of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan increases in ensuring the global energy security and developing the transport potential of Europe, the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Kasimjomart Tokayev told in his speech at the embassy reception in Astana on the occasion of the Independence Day of Azerbaijan, Trend Special Correspondent in Astana reports.
I believe that the agreements, which were reached between our presidents earlier, will help increasing the welfare of our people, Kazakh Foreign Minister said.
He emphasized that putting the Poti-Baku-Aktau-Alma-Ata rail way into operation, implementation of successful co-operation in water and air infrastructures, creating the transport energy corridor Aktau-Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, and construction of grain terminal in Baku for Kazakh grain, are concrete achievements directed towards bringing the bilateral relations to a new level.
In addition, the Minister stressed that the Azerbaijani-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Co-operation is also one of the mechanism for realizing future projects and joint initiatives.
Our countries successfully co-operate in various international and regional organizations and share the common approaches to the actual issues regarding the security and economical integration, Tokayev underlined, adding that I am sure that the expansion of the intergovernmental interaction will serve the future welfare of our people.
The reception in Astana on the occasion of the Independence Day of Azerbaijan brought together all diplomatic corpuses accredited in the republic: heads of all diplomatic missions and members of government and parliament.
Azerbaijani dance in the national dress was performed at the reception by Narmin, daughter of, Latif Gandilov, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
