Kamaladdin Heydarov, Azerbaijan Emergency Situations Ministry said at the arrangement connected with the professional holiday of employees of the Ministry, that significant changes for the better occurred in the country over the short period of time since the Emergency Situations Ministry was established., Trend reports.
With the development of science and techniques, along with natural disasters, the probability on emerging man-caused accidents is rapidly set to increase. Guaranteeing safety of the population is one of the key priorities of the state, and taking it into consideration, the head of the Azerbaijani State issued an order on foundation of the Ministry for Emergency Situations.
The Minister said that today the Ministry is capable to rapidly react in case of the emergency. The State Body is capable to manage the safety of enterprises, facilities, and plants of a strategic nature.
Getting acuminated with the activity of the offices subjected to the Ministry shows that prior to the foundation of the Emergency Situations Ministry, most different state bodies had been engaged in elimination of results of emergency situations in the country. That is why there had been a lot of shortcoming in their activities. Over 60% of the existing key assets had not been useful, the material and technical base had been poor, the wages of the employees had been too low, the discipline had not been observed at all. However, over the short period of time since the day when the Ministry was founded, great changes for the better have occurred in these facilities, said the Minister.
