The Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry reported that 136 persons were dismissed from their posts at the forest protection and restoration organization for violations.
As a result of comprehensive inspections conducted in September-October 2010 over the complaints submitted to the ministry, the ministry had reprimanded 175 employees and gave strict reprimands to 68.
The ministry's collegium meeting said that during the inspections conducted at the enterprises to protect and restore forests in 2010 were compiled acts on illegal felling of 61,637 trees in the volume of 34,483 cubic meters.
Over the last year 199 of 363 cases of violation of rules on the use of forest resources directed to law enforcement agencies have been considered.
The meeting discussed negative factors such as delayed consideration of letters and complaints from citizens, dalliance to fines and, in general, inadequate performance of the duties by some officials of the ministry.
