Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. Z.Safarov / The main reason that for the victory of Sochi to host the Winter Olympic Games has been the strong committee involved which was supported by the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Commenting on the victory of Sochi City to host the Winter Olympic Games 2014, Chingiz Heseynzadeh, the Vice-President of the Azerbaijani National Olympic Committee, Huseynzadeh stated that Sochi does not have any sports buildings which meet world standards although the city has the necessary finance for their construction.
The Europeans believe that the Samsung company has supported Pionchang and the Russian company Gasprom had supported Sochi, but no company has supported Zaltsburg. However, everything depended upon the voice of the International Olympic Committee members. However, I did assess Zaltsburg's chances as being the lowest due to the recent White Olympic Games being held in Turin in Europe," Huseynzadeh stressed.
