BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18. Some 118 companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Turkiye from January through May 2022, up by 15 companies compared to the same period of 2021, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkiye (TOBB) said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.
In the reporting period, the total capital of registered Azerbaijani companies in Turkiye amounted to 42.4 million Turkish liras ($2.4 million), while in the same period of 2021, this figure was 23.4 million Turkish liras ($1.3 million) in the same period of 2021.
During this time, 97 companies with Azerbaijani capital were listed in Istanbul with 31.3 million Turkish liras ($1.8 million) of overall capital.
Out of the total number of registered companies, eight companies are involved in agriculture, six – in construction, 58 – in wholesale and retail trade, three – in real estate sales, five – in the tourism sector, and 12 – in transport and logistics.
"The remaining companies operate in other sectors of the Turkish economy," TOBB said.
In 2021, 237 Azerbaijani companies with total capital of 63.2 million Turkish liras ($3.6 million) were registered in Turkiye.
As many as 148 companies with Azerbaijani capital were listed in Turkiye in 2020. Their overall capital made up 21.2 million Turkish liras ($1.2 million).
