The Azerbaijani State Securities Committee improved tools for adjusting professional securities market participants' activity and launched check up of brokers and dealers activities by a new methodology, the State Committee reported
In 2009, the committee checked activity of four professional participants and imposed various sanctions, including administrative fines, while revealing the shortages
The Committee suspended a broker-dealer activity license of one company, one license was abolished and the two professional participants were charged administrative fines worth 500 manat.
The number of professional securities market participants hit 38 in 2009. About 15 licenses have been given for broker activity, 13 - for dealers' one, 2 - registrars, 1 - stock exchange, 3 - securities governance, 1 - clearing activity and 3 - depositary activity.
