As of 2010, the number of plastic cards served by the processing center Azericard, amounted to about 2 million units, the center said. It hits about 47 percent of the total number of cards issued by Azerbaijani banks last year. According to the statistics from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the number totaled 4.23 million units as of 2010.
The turnover on the cards served by Azericard amounted to 5 398 130 000 manat.
The center issued 150,445 cards via the international payment system VISA, and MasterCard - 56,528 cards. The number of pension cards totaled 72,629 units (including re-issuing of cards in case of loss or damage of cards).
Today, about 30 banks are served in AzeriCard in Azerbaijan and abroad. Roughly 28 are members of international payment systems. There are only 44 banks in Azerbaijan.
