Azerbaijan to increase cost of external debt servicing by 2.7 times in 2013

Azerbaijani government plans to increase the cost of the public debt servicing up to 780.7 million manat in 2013, by 2.5 times (468.3 million manat) compared to the current year, the draft state budget for 2013 and the following three years submitted to the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan stated.

Some 647.3 million manat are provided for servicing external debt, which is 2.7 times, or 411.4 million manat more than in 2012. Some 133.4 million manat will be contributed to cover the costs of domestic public debt, which is 74.4 percent, or 56.9 million manat more compared with 2012.

According to forecasts for 2013, the expenses linked with international activities and the payment of membership fees to international organizations are 112.9 million manat, with 60.9 million manat provided for the maintenance of the diplomatic and consular services, improvement of their logistics and wages of their employees, which is 7.3 million manat or 13.6 per cent more than in 2012. Some 20 million manat are planned to be allocated for the payment of membership fees to international socio-political and financial organizations, 32 million manat - for other international activities in Azerbaijan.

Some 50 million manat is planned to be allocated to financing of international and local events, showing a decrease of 27 million manat compared to 2012.
