Seeds deficiency for sowing is expected to hit 110,000 tons in Kazakhstan in 2013, Novosti-Kazakhstan quoted head of Kazakh Farmers' Union Auezhan Darinov as saying.
Due to this fact the demand for seeds can be very high in the country in spring, Darinov said.
"We beware of high demand for seeds in near future which will result in speculative sales and sharp increase in prices," he said.
According to the head of Farmers' Union, the majority of farms hit by draught last year have no seeds.
