Assets of Kazakh based Alfa-Bank decline in first quarter of 2018

Assets of Kazakhstan's Alfa-Bank declined by 8.2 percent in January-March 2018, to 348.223 billion tenge, Kazakh media outlets reported.

Net loss of the bank compared to the same period in 2017 decreased 1.6 times, to 1.1 billion tenge, the cumulative loss decreased by 29.3 percent, to 1.1 billion tenge.

The loan portfolio of the bank increased by 5.7 percent in the first quarter of 2018, amounting to 177.5 billion tenge. The volume of customer accounts decreased by 10.6 percent as of March 31, 2018 and amounted to 272 billion tenge.

Net interest income increased by 12.3 percent in the reporting period, to 9.8 billion, commission income – by 2 times, up to 2.7 billion tenge. The liabilities of the bank decreased by 8.6 percent, to 293.2 billion tenge, equity capital - by 6 percent, to 54.9 billion tenge, the authorized capital did not change and amounted to 5.5 billion tenge.

Alfa-Bank in Kazakhstan was established in December 1994 in Kazakhstan. The bank is part of ABH Holdings SA, represented in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and the Netherlands. Alfa-Bank in Kazakhstan ranked 15th by the amount of assets, among 32 Kazakhstan banks in the first quarter of 2018.
