Sabirabad cannery, Azerbaijan’s biggest producer of canned goods, is looking for new markets for pomegranate juice exports, a source at the cannery told Trend.

The cannery exports its products to the Baltic countries, Russia and Germany, according to the source.

“From the beginning of this year, the plant has exported products to these countries, and plans regular deliveries to each of them until the end of 2019,” the source said. “In parallel, negotiations are being held with potential partners in Central Asia countries. We plan to increase export deliveries through enhancing production volumes of pomegranate juice.”

The source also noted that the cannery’s annual output by the end of 2019 will be 12 million bottles of pomegranate juice, and next year this figure is planned to be increased to 13 million bottles.

“In addition to pomegranate juice, the export share includes narsharab (pomegranate sauce) and minimal volumes of aseptic pomegranate concentrate,” the source added.

The company's products have a Certificate of Conformity issued by Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents.

The factory has been operating since 1982, and uses Italian and Moldovan equipment.
