Number of enterprises to be set up in Iran increases

The number of industrial enterprises licensed for establishment in Iran increased by 45.4 percent during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.

According to the statistics, a total of 25,100 industrial enterprises were licensed for establishment over 8 months. While in the same period last Iranian year, this figure amounted to 17,300.

“It is planned to be spent 3.13 quadrillion rials (about $74.5 billion) on the construction of these enterprises within the reporting period. This is an increase of 46.8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Thus, 2.1 trillion rials (about $50.1 billion) was to be spent on the construction of these enterprises in the same period last Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 563,000 people are estimated to be employed at the enterprises licensed in eight months. The employment increased by 41 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 399,000 people have been to be employed at the enterprises licensed in the same period last Iranian year.
