By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

The European Union (EU) has launched nine new projects worth 7 million euros to support vocational education and labor market development in Georgia, Trend reports via the EU.

The launch took place during a special online event held under the auspices of Skills Week Georgia.

The package consists of nine grant projects, funded by the second phase of the EU’s Skills4Jobs program in Georgia. The grants have been allocated to private and public sector organizations and civil society organizations to further enhance employment opportunities.

The projects will focus on ensuring that relevant skill-matching services and education opportunities in vocational education, training, and entrepreneurship are available throughout Georgia, particularly for youth, women, and vulnerable people.

The Skills4Jobs program has three main targets:

- Relevant skill-matching services are accessible in selected regions of Georgia;
- Relevant lifelong learning skill provision is accessible in selected regions with a focus on youth;
- Entrepreneurial learning and training opportunities are accessible in selected regions.
