Iran launches new facilities in Aras Free Trade Zone

A number of facilities which are built at a cost of 1.23 trillion rials (about $29.3 million) have been launched in the Aras Free Trade - Industrial Zone in the East Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) yesterday on Feb. 3, the Adviser to the Iranian president and Secretary of the Supreme Council of Iran's Free Trade, Industrial and Special Economic Zones, Morteza Bank said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

An enterprise producing various footwear and laminate wall coverings has been launched in Iran's Aras Free Trade - Industrial Zone at a cost of about 135 billion rials (about $3.21 million). The enterprise will produce 6,000 tons of shoes and laminate wall coverings per year. And as a result, 12 people were employed.

In addition, an enterprise was launched that will assemble 30,000 accumulators, 350 electric lift racks, 100 dual-fuel lift racks, 200 manual lift racks per year. A total of 602 billion rials (about $14.3 million) was spent on the enterprise. And 38 people were employed.

At the same time, a greenhouse for growing vegetables in an area of about 7,000 square meters with hydroponics method was put into operation in the zone.

A total of 45 billion rials (about $1.07 million) was spent on the establishment of the greenhouse. This greenhouse will produce 160 tons of products annually. And 6 people were employed.

A 132-kilovolt substation was also launched in the Aras Free Trade Zone at a cost of 450 billion rials (about $10.7 million).
