BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. The non-oil trade between Iran and Uzbekistan has grown significantly in the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
The data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that the two countries traded about 271,000 tons of goods worth $203 million in this period, representing a 28.8-percent increase in value and a 39.4-percent increase in volume compared to the same period last year.
In the same period previous Iranian year, the non-oil trade between Iran and Uzbekistan was only 194,000 tons, worth $157 million.
The trade volume was relatively stable in the last three months, ranging from 43,000 to 45,000 tons per month. The highest trade value was recorded in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2023), when the two countries exchanged nearly 43,700 tons of goods worth $38.2 million.
The main products traded were milk and dairy products, petrochemical products, pipes of various kinds, cotton, beans, silk, and more.
Iran’s non-oil trade with the rest of the world also increased in the first half of this year, reaching $54.6 billion and involving 85.3 million tons of goods. This represents a 4.84 percent increase in value and a 23.7 percent increase in volume from the same period last year.
