Ford unveils refreshed C-MAX

(autoinsidernews) - Ford unveiled a refreshed C-MAX at the Bologna Motor Show. Originally launched as the Focus C-MAX, Ford has decided to give the freshened model its own identity, similar to the S-MAX.

The cornerstone of our MAX' strategy is to give customers all the features, space and flexibility they need from a family vehicle, but with a style that allows them to stand out in the crowd, and above all to maximise driving pleasure, said Stephen Odell, Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Service for Ford of Europe. Both the new C-MAX and the bigger S-MAX are true to this concept versatile, comfortable and spacious, yet also great fun to drive.

The new C-MAX features a revised front end that resembles the S-MAX and includes cues from Ford's European kinetic design language. The C-MAX also features a significantly upgraded interior design, including an optional glass panoramic roof, reports Trend.

Up front, the C-MAX sports a lower grille with the large inverted trapezoid, a key element of kinetic design. The new bumper integrates vertical fog lights and HIDs with light strips' instead of conventional parking light bulbs. Light blue fluorescent tubes follow the form of front lights. Out back, the C-MAX gets a redesigned bumper and new LED rear lights.

Inside, the instrument panel, center console and door trims have been redesigned with more premium quality materials. The instrument panel features cleaner graphics and red lighting. instruments feature clear graphics and are now illuminated in a warm red. The audio system is equipped with an auxiliary input socket for iPods. The optional panorama glass roof features a Solar Reflect coating, offering a light and airy environment while keeping out the sun's heat.
