The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) expressed interest in cooperation with the Ecology Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in major ecological projects, the department said.
During a meeting with the Ecology Department's representatives the Head of Economic and Environmental Unit of OSCE Office in Baku Jan Olsson expressed interest in cooperation with SOCAR Ecology Department to facilitate the Ecological Park project.
Also during the meeting the sides came to the decision to cooperate in defining the prospects for cooperation in ecological and other issues.
The Ecological Park is being created in the territory of SOCAR's Oil and Gas Department named after H.Z.Taghiyev in an area of 9.3 hectares. Most of the energy needs of the park will be met by wind and solar energy. SOCAR intends to grow young plants in the territory of the Ecological Park to meet its departments' needs in greenery.
