A recent major earthquake proved the safety level of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, newly appointed Foreign Ministry spokesperson Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said on Tuesday.
Iran is waiting for the P5+1 group's response to its proposals on how to resolve the standoff over the country's nuclear programme, the ILNa News Agency quoted Araqchi as saying.
He further described the proposals put forth by Iran during talks in Kazakhstan and Russia as being constructive and balanced.
He went on to note that EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton is expected to unveil the response of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany during a meeting with Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili in Istanbul on Wednesday.
Araqchi said the P5+1 should respect Iran's nuclear rights. He also emphasised that Tehran will not give in to pressures and threats.
