Turkey is late in making investments in Iraq's energy sector due to the country's current difficult political conditions and bureaucratic processes, head of SOCAR Turkey Enerji, board member of Petkim Petrochemical Holding Kenan Yavuz said in an interview with Bloomberg TV on Monday.

Today, Turkey is carrying out energy projects in the north of Iraq and throughout its territory, Yavuz said.

"Turkey's current energy policy is aimed at the implementation of energy projects in Iraq in which we previously could not take part in due to various political and bureaucratic problems," Yavuz said.

Yavuz said that the Iraq is also aware that it cannot fully enter the global market without Turkey's help, cooperation with it and use of its territory.

He also stressed that as an energy corridor, Turkey aids the stabilization and development of the entire region.
