Baku, Azerbaijan, June 25

By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

Some selection procedures as part of the implementation of the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) project have been suspended temporarily due to appeals, said a message from ICGB AD company, engaged in construction of the pipeline.

Public procurement “Selection of Owner’s Engineer for the Construction of the Gas Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria” was suspended due to an appeal against clarifications of the Contracting Authority.

Upon the decision of the competent authority and in case the request for the imposition of a provisional measure is rejected, the procedure will be resumed and the time-limits for the submission of tenders will be extended, said the company.

Moreover, the restricted procedure for the selection of a Contractor for the “Design, procurement and construction of a natural gas Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria “is temporarily suspended due to filed appeals at the Commission for protection of competition against clarifications of the Contracting Authority.

IGB is a gas pipeline, which will allow Bulgaria to receive Azerbaijani gas, in particular, the gas produced from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz 2 gas and condensate field. IGB is expected to be connected to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) via which gas from the Shah Deniz field will be delivered to the European markets.

The initial capacity of IGB will be 3 billion cubic meters of gas.
