Atyrau refinery in Kazakhstan reveals production volumes

Kazakhstan’s Atyrau refinery has processed 3,502,907 tons of oil for the eight months of this year, the press service of the refinery said in a statement.

In August alone, 457,936 tons of crude oil were processed. The share of light oil products in the total volume of processing of raw materials for August given the plan of 70.1 percent was actually 70.7 percent, and the plan was executed by 100 percent for the eight months.

Director General of Atyrau Refinery LLP Galymzhan Amaturlin revealed the current production figures of the plant and the results of completion of all modernization stages, as part of which a complex for the production of aromatic hydrocarbons and a complex of deep oil refining was built.

“The complex of deep oil refining operates in test mode,” he said. “By its virtue, the depth of processing and the output of light oil products increased, and the volume of oil processing rose from 5 million tons to 5.5 million tons per year.”

The construction of complex of deep oil refining is the final, third stage of modernization of the Atyrau refinery. After it, the plant’s technological schemes will be completed, and this will allow the plant to reach one of the highest levels of complexity of the world’s oil refining and petrochemical complexes.
