By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

Denmark’s Haldor Topsoe company is ready to further support refining projects in Turkmenistan, the company told Trend.

“Turkmenistan has the fourth largest natural gas reserves in the world and has been expanding its economy steadily in recent years. The country has promoted the development of new ways to monetize natural gas and diversify its exports. To support this development, Haldor Topsoe provides technologies, catalysts, and services for the key gas monetization projects in Turkmenistan,” said the company.

For instance, Haldor Topsoe said it provided ammonia technology license, engineering, proprietary hardware and catalysts for Turkmenistan’s new urea plant Garabogaz-Karbamid. “The plant’s grand opening was celebrated on September 17.”

Haldor Topsoe’s TIGAS™ (Topsoe Improved Gasoline Synthesis) technology was chosen for the world’s largest synthetic gasoline plant GTG-1 near Ashgabad.

“This process includes, as a first stage, a Topsoe SynCOR™ Methanol plant with a capacity of more than 5000 tons per day, and in the second stage conversion of all the methanol into gasoline. Haldor Topsoe provides license, engineering, hardware, and catalysts for the entire production process. The plant is currently under commissioning and will soon start the production of high-quality gasoline,” said the company.

Haldor Topsoe said it is committed to continue supporting ambitious gas monetization and refining projects in Turkmenistan and other countries of the Caspian region.

Haldor Topsoe is a world leader in catalysis, committed to helping its customers achieve optimal performance. It enables companies in the chemical and oil and gas industries to get the most out of their processes and products, using the least possible energy and resources.
