Minister: 54% of Iran’s non-oil exports accounts for neighboring countries

Iran has 15 neighboring countries and 54 percent of Iran’s non-oil exports accounts for them, Iranian Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Reza Rahmani said before leaving for Islamabad to attend the meeting of Iran-Pakistan economic cooperation, Trend reports via the website of the Ministry.

He said that marketing potential should be used to increase Iran’s exports.

He added that in order to increase exports and trade turnover soon, Iran’s bordering provinces will be given a number of powers that will facilitate trade relations with the participation of private sector.

The trade turnover between Iran and Pakistan is $1.3 billion, the Iranian minister said, adding that with the signing of a free trade agreement, the turnover will increase by $5 billion.

From March 21, 2018 to March 20, 2019, the export of goods to 15 countries around Iran amounted to $24.06 billion, and imports from these countries amounted to $11.5 billion. Iran’s exports to these countries increased by 3 percent, while imports from these countries decreased by 23 percent.
