BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. The North-West Branch of Iranian Oil Pipeline and Telecommunication Company (IOPTC) distributed approximately 1.87 billion liters of crude oil and related products to 4 provinces in the north-western Iran - East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Ardabil and Zanjan, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), Director of the IOPTC’s North-West Branch, Ali Jafar Aghaei said, Trend reports.
Jafar Aghaei noted that in total, 801 million liters of crude oil and 1.06 billion liters of various petroleum products were transported to the mentioned 4 provinces in 2 months.
“Meanwhile, in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), North-West Branch of the company transported more than 13.6 billion liters of crude oil and related products, which accounted for about 9 percent of the company’s total transportation,” he added.
According to the director, last year, 6.15 billion liters of crude oil were transported to the mentioned 4 provinces, which accounted for approximately 11 percent of the total crude oil transportation to country’s provinces.
At the same time, approximately 6.67 billion liters of petroleum products were transported to the mentioned 4 provinces within the last year. This is approximately 9 percent of the total oil products transported to Iran’s provinces, Aghaei said.
The director also pointed out that North-West Branch of Iranian Oil Pipeline and Telecommunication Company provides fuel to Tabriz Oil Refining Company, Tabriz Petrochemical Company, Sabalan TPP in Ardabil Province, Soltaniyeh TPP in Zanjan Province, and Urmia TPP in West Azerbaijan Province through 4 crude oil transportation and 6 petroleum products transportation centers.
Iranian Oil Pipeline and Telecommunication Company transports crude oil and oil products to the country's oil refineries and consumption points through more than 14,000 kilometers of pipelines in the country.
