( Turkish Daily News ) - The Turkish-Greek natural gas pipeline will be officially inaugurated by the prime ministers of the two countries between August 16 and 26, Turkish Energy Minister Hilmi Guler announced yesterday.

News reports earlier said the ceremony planned this month to mark the start of pumping natural gas from the Turkish-Greek pipeline project would be delayed to September at the request of Greek authorities.

Guler's remarks came during a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Natik Aliyev, in Ankara. He said Turkey and Azerbaijan undertook significant projects, giving the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline as an example.

Another major project with Azerbaijan is the Shah Deniz project aimed at marketing Azerbaijani natural gas to Turkey and finally to Europe. Guler said the project had been completed and that Greece and Italy were impatiently waiting to receive Azeri gas via Turkey.
