Surplus continues to be recorded in Azerbaijani state budget

The Azerbaijani state budget revenues amounted to slightly over 4 billion manat ($2.3 billion) in the first two months of 2021, which is by 11.5 percent more than in the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the report of the State Statistical Committee.

In the reporting period, the state budget expenditure made up over 3.4 billion manat ($2 million), up by 4.2 percent year on year.

As of late February this year, a surplus of 559.6 million manat ($329.1 million) has formed in the Azerbaijani state budget. The nominal volume of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Azerbaijan in 2M2021 amounted to 12.02 billion manat ($7.07 billion).

Thus, the state budget surplus equaled 4.7 percent of Azerbaijan's GDP.

Overall, in 2020 the state budget revenues amounted to more than 24.6 billion manat ($14.4 billion), and expenditure - 26.4 billion manat ($15.5 billion). As a result, at the end of 2020, a deficit in the amount of over 1.74 billion manat ($1.02 billion), or 2.4 percent of the country's GDP, was formed in the budget.

As of late January 2021, the surplus was also recorded in the state budget (over 1.08 billion manat or $640 million).
