TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 30. Uzbekistan manufactured textile products worth 19.7 trillion soums ($1.5 billion) from January through March 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 11.9 percent year-on-year (17.6 trillion soums, or $1.3 billion in January–March 2023).
At the same time, the production volume of clothing in Uzbekistan reached 4.9 trillion soums ($388.1 million). This indicator reflects 13.9 percent growth compared to the same period last year (4.3 trillion soums, or $340.5 million in January–March 2023).
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported textile products worth $775.7 million from January through March 2024. This figure has increased by 0.87 percent year-on-year ($769 million in January–March 2023).
Yarn (46.8 percent) and ready-made textile products (37.7 percent) accounted for the majority of textile exports.
A total of 465 types of textile products were exported to 55 countries from January through March 2024.
