Central Bank of Iran discloses value of foreign assets of Iranian banks

The value of foreign assets of Central Bank of Iran, other Iranian banks and financial institutions amounted to 6.67 quadrillion rials (about $158 billion) in total at the end of the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (June 22, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, this is an increase of 30.2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the figure was 5.12 quadrillion rials (about $122 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.

“Thus, the value of foreign assets of the CBI amounted to 4.79 quadrillion rials (about $114 billion) at the end of third month, which is an increase of 30.6 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, this figure amounted to 3.67 quadrillion rials (about $87.3 billion) in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

In addition, the value of foreign assets of other banks and financial institutions in Iran amounted to 1.88 quadrillion rials (about $44.7 billion), which an increase of 29.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. While in the same period last Iranian year, this figure was 1.45 quadrillion rials (about $34.6 billion), the statistics said.
