The main part of the loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks accounted for business loans in the first half of 2021, Trend reports citing the financial report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the report, in the reporting period the banks issued business loans worth 8.7 billion manat ($5.1 billion, or 58.8 percent of the total volume), which is by 1.2 percent more than in the same period of last year.
Consumer loans accounted for 26.5 percent of the banks' loan portfolio (3.94 billion manat or $2.32 billion) while mortgage loans - 14.7 percent (2.19 billion manat or $1.3 billion).
In general, the total loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks exceeded 14.8 billion manat ($8.7 billion) as of early July, while a year earlier this figure was 14.17 billion manat ($8.34 billion).
The total loan portfolio of banks increased by 4.8 percent or 687.1 million manat ($404.18 million) on annual basis.
The total profit of the Azerbaijani banking sector reached 366.3 million manat ($215.4 million) as of early July this year.
