UN Improves Azerbaijan’s E-readiness Rating

Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 March / Trend corr S. Babayeva/ In 2008, Azerbaijan was 89th position in the UN's universal E-readiness rating, while in 2005 the country was 101st. According to the UN's 'E-Government Survey 2008: From E-Government to Connected Governance', in West Asia Azerbaijan overtook Georgia (90th position) and Armenia (103rd position). The index of Azerbaijan's e-readiness is 0.4609, Georgia's - 0.4598, Armenia - 0.4182.

Taking 17th position Israel topped the rating for West Asia, followed by the United Arab Emirates (32nd position) and Cyprus (35th position).

In the UN's E-participation index, Azerbaijan was 49th position leaving behind Egypt, India, Ireland and Italy.

The UN's e-readiness report includes 192 countries. Sweden heads the TOP-10 and is followed by Denmark and Norway. The USA is 4th position, followed by Netherlands, Korea, Canada, Australia, France and UK.
