Azerbaijani bank talks on digitalization level of companies' activities

Recently, digitalization has begun to be introduced into all structures of activity, Vusal Khalilov, head of Azerbaijani PASHA Bank’s engineering department, told Trend.

Khalilov said that according to the international consulting company McKinsey, only 16 percent of companies have achieved digital transformation of their activities.

"However, these indicators don’t mean that other companies won’t be successful in their activities. The remaining 84 percent of companies that have failed to digitalize their activities will continue to exist and they will still have the opportunity to join the above 16 percent and increase this figure," he noted.

The bank’s representative also pointed out that every technical solution is a business solution.

"We can’t say that the use of a certain type of technology in the company's activities serves our interests or that we like it, because every technical solution serves the business," he said.

"Taking into account the possible further integration of any technical solution, a successful company must analyze the possible risks and consequences. The use of technology, as a business model, always has certain risks, and the team working on the implementation of any type of technical solution must foresee all possible risks and, already starting from the analysis made, decide whether it is advisable to implement this solution or not," emphasized Khalilov.

As he further said, in addition to technical solutions, a company's success also depends on qualified human resources. In this direction, it’s worth considering three phases: hiring specialists, improving their qualifications and maintaining personnel.

"Many successful companies aren’t always guided with the formal knowledge of a job candidate, that is, use of an algorithm where the recruiter can practically identify the necessary requirements to hire the candidate through the mediation and stimulation of the company's management is important rather than the presence of a university diploma," Khalilov summed up.
