The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava met with major American tour operators, Trend reports with reference to bizzone.info.

At the meeting, the issue of attracting tourists to Georgia from the USA, Canada, New Zealand and other English-speaking countries was discussed.

It was noted that the American tour operator MIR Corporation, which has been operating in Georgia for a long time, starts a joint project with National Geographic for arranging tours to Georgia for citizens of the countries of North America, New Zealand and other English-speaking countries. The company will offer the tourists packages that match their preferences.

The Minister positively assessed the project and noted that its implementation is particularly relevant today, when the tourism sector in Georgia is facing a challenge.

“We welcome the project, which will increase the number of tourists from the United States, Canada, New Zealand and other English-speaking countries visiting Georgia. We will support this project, as we believe that such initiatives contribute to popularizing Georgia in English-speaking countries,” the minister said.
