The volume of passenger traffic by all types of transport in Azerbaijan from January through October 2020 amounted to 1.2 million people, which is 39 percent less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the report of the State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, during the reporting period, passenger transportation by rail decreased by 38.4 percent compared to the same period of last year, and amounted to 1.8 million people.
At the same time, passenger transportation by sea increased by 3.4 percent, making 18,400 people, by air - 76.6 percent less (537,400 people), by metro - by 61.1 percent or 74.7 million people less, said the report.
Some 943.1 million passengers were transported by road from January through October 2020, which is 36 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
At the same time, during the specified period, buses carried passengers by 35.8 percent less than a year earlier, and taxis - by 39.9 percent.
