Cargo transportation through Yazd Shahid Sadooghi International Airport in the Yazd Province (central Iran) increased by 49 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, a total of 2,082 tons of cargo were transported through the airport in 8 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 1,398.
“Over 8 months, 294,462 passengers were transported through the Yazd Shahid Sadooghi International Airport. Passenger transportation increased by 25 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 236,263 passengers had been transported via the airport in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
In general, 4,086 passenger planes took off and landed at the Yazd Shahid Sadooghi International Airport within 8 months, which is an increase of 33 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, the figure amounted to 3,062 in the same period last Iranian year.
Iran's Yazd Shahid Sadoogi International Airport is located on an area of 575 hectares.
