Police Lieutenant Ernaz Kozhakhmetov received gunshot wound to his head by criminals on July 28 and died at the hospital of Kazakh city of Almaty at about 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Kazinform reported with reference to Regional Department of Internal Affairs.
On July 28, unknown people committed an armed attack on police officers in Almaty. As a result, police officer Yerzhan Kayrakbaev died on the spot, and Ernaz Kozhakhmetov was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head.
The criminals were found on June 30. During the special operation to detain criminals, they refused to surrender and opened fire. All six criminals were killed by response fire. Firearms were found and seized at the scene. There are no victims among civilians and law enforcement personnel.
