Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Kairat Mami met with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov who is in Kazakhstan with a state visit.
The main focus at the meeting was made on the development of the inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries In the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan there is a group for cooperation with the Parliament of Turkmenistan whose members also attended the meeting.
The parties noted that the inter-parliamentary cooperation is an important area of cooperation. They especially emphasized the need for the further legislative support of joint projects in economic, trade, transit and transport, and other sectors.
Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted the importance of the legislative work and the experience exchange between the parliamentarians and on behalf of the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan invited K. Mami to pay a visit to Ashgabat.
During the meeting, Mami informed the President of Turkmenistan about the structure, powers and activities of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, and the legislative process.
Kairat Mami wished the president a fruitful visit and expressed his confidence that the state visit of the president of Turkmenistan will give a new impetus to the further development of the cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
