BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. Kazakhstan's oil production in 2025 is expected to amount to 2.1 mb/d, Trend reports.

As the International Energy Agency (IEA) expects, after a slight decline to 1.8 mb/d in Kazakh oil output in 2022, the country's production levels will reach their record-high in 2025, and main around that level until 2028.

At the same time, the Chevron-led consortium operating Tengiz oil field has initiated early flows from a $45 billion project aimed at increasing output to 850,000 b/d and facilitating future growth. The Tengiz Future Growth Project-Wellhead Pressure Management Project is nearing completion.

Last year, neighboring Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan experienced reduced production due to operational limitations and various disruptions. However, the expansion of Tengiz in Kazakhstan and the commencement of the BP-led Azeri Central East platform will support regional supplies, the IEA added.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan is collaborating with international oil companies to enhance investments in renewable energy as part of its energy transition efforts. The KazMunayGas state-owned company, for instance, has committed to reducing its carbon emissions by 15 percent by 2031 and has awarded solar and wind development projects to foreign firms.
