ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 17. Kazakhstan's Intergas Central Asia JSC (a subsidiary of the national company QazaqGaz JSC) has completed the first stage of construction of gas infrastructure for the Almaty energy complex, Trend reports.
As Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almassadam Satkaliyev previously stated, all three combined heat and power plants (CHPP) in Almaty are planned to be switched to gas.
The first stage involved the installation of two automatic gas distribution stations as well as the building of a TIP-04 gas jumper pipeline between the Almaty-Bayserke-Talgar and Kazakhstan-China main gas pipelines.
Repair and restoration work was also done at the Western Thermal Complex's autonomous gas distribution station.
Two autonomous gas distribution stations are planned to supply natural gas to CHPP-2. Their respective productivity rates are 250,000 and 150,000 cubic meters per hour, respectively.
At the same time, the TIP-04 gas jumper pipeline between the Kazakhstan-China main gas pipeline and the Almaty-Bayserke-Talgar main gas pipeline will provide stable gas supply not only to Almaty CHPPs but also to the residents of Almaty and the Almaty region. The total length of the gas jumper pipeline is 9.6 km, and productivity is 1 million cubic meters per hour.
