Kyrgyzstan's petroleum coke and bitumen imports fall

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 23. Kyrgyzstan imported 39,611 tons of petroleum coke and bitumen from January through November 2023, which is a 57-percent decrease compared to the same period in 2022 (91,730 tons), Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of the imports amounted to $22.796 million during the corresponding period, which is a 97-percent increase compared to January-November 2022 ($11.557 million).

The majority of petroleum coke and bitumen imports into Kyrgyzstan originated from Russia, totaling 30,651 tons valued at $8.285 million, followed by Kazakhstan with 8,875 tons valued at $14.460 million.

The volume of petroleum coke and bitumen imports from Kazakhstan decreased by 88.2 percent year-on-year from January through November 2023, while imports from Russia increased by 89 percent compared to the same months in 2022.

Overall, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $13.9 billion from January through November 2023, which is a 29 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 ($10.7 billion).

Kyrgyzstan's exports totaled $2.8 billion, which is a 36.7 percent growth compared to the corresponding period in 2022 ($2.05 billion). The country's imports amounted to $11.1 billion, increasing by 27.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($8.7 billion).
