BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 2. The volume of electricity exports of Barqi Tojik, Tajikistan's national power company, increased in the first half of 2022, Trend reports with reference to the khovar.tj.

The volume of Barqi Tojik's electricity exports from January through June 2022 increased by 141.6 million kWh compared to the same period of 2021 - up to 1.5 billion kWh.

According to the company, during the reporting period, electricity was mainly exported to the neighboring Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

At the same time, the total volume of Barqi Tojik's electricity generation from January through June 2022 amounted to 7.6 billion kWh, which is an increase of 71 million kWh over the corresponding period of 2021.

Over 75 percent of Tajikistan's electricity is generated by Barqi Tojik's NPP, the largest hydropower facility in Central Asia with a 3 gigawatt installed generation capacity.
