Uzbekistan interested in enhancing cooperation in the field of ‘green' technologies, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.
The issue was discussed during the meeting held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan with the Ambassador of Finland to Uzbekistan Maria Liivala, who is completing her diplomatic mission in the country.
The Uzbek side expressed gratitude to Liivala for her contribution to the development of Uzbek-Finnish relations. In turn, the Finnish diplomat highly appreciated the significance of the socio-economic transformations taking place in the country, and also expressed gratitude for the effective interaction within the framework of fulfilling common tasks.
Also, the prospects of Uzbek-Finnish cooperation in priority areas were discussed, including trade, transport and logistics, agriculture, information and communication technologies, healthcare and tourism.
Finland is one of the greenest countries in the world with significant experience in the field of environmental protection. In this regard, the Uzbek side voiced interest in enhancing cooperation in the field of ‘green’ technologies.
In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of holding in the near future the next meeting of the Uzbek-Finnish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial and Scientific and Technical Cooperation, as well as a business forum with the participation of entrepreneurs of the two countries.
