Dozens of foreign journalists to cover presidential elections in Iran: Iranian official

"Some 190 foreign correspondents have appealed to us in order to cover presidential elections in Iran," the IRNA quoted Iranian Ministry of Culture Central Foreign Press Department Director Mohsun Mugaddaszade as saying.

Correspondents from different channels, news agencies, newspapers and magazines from 26 countries have expressed their willingness to visit Iran. "Most of all applications in order to cover the presidential elections in Iran came from Japan, England and the United States," said Mugaddaszade.

Representatives of foreign media will be able to visit Iran to cover presidential elections, after turning to diplomatic missions (embassies) of Iran in their own country.
According to Mugaddaszade, the majority of made applications were satisfied.

The presidential elections will be held in Iran on June 12.
