Iran will launch a new shipping line from its Bushehr Port to Qatar, Abolqasem Mohammadzadeh, an Iranian official said.
The Line will be launched in the coming weeks by the Islamic Republic’s Valfajr Shipping Company, Mohammadzadeh said, IRNA news agency reported July 5.
By launching the line, refrigerated containers will be used to export products to Qatar, he added.
The development comes in the wake of a recent move by a number of Arab countries to close their borders and airspace with Qatar.
Iranian officials say the country is already sending at least 100 tons of food supplies to Qatar by plane every day.
Shahrokh Noushabadi, national flag carrier Iran Air's spokesman, was quoted by the domestic media as saying that at least five planeloads of fruits and vegetables had already been sent to Qatar.
