In the first three months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), exports of Iran's Ilam province increased by 84 percent in terms of value, compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, an official with Ilam Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Said Sharifi said, Trend reports via IRNA.
During the reported period, Iran exported 448,000 tons of goods worth $291 million through borders of its Ilam province, Sharifi said.
Iran's exports of goods via Ilam increased by 49 percent in terms of weight and by 33 percent in terms of value, Sharifi said.
He further noted that Iran's exports and imports via border markets help to improve the welfare of poor population living in these areas.
The province shares 430 kilometers of border with Iraq and has a great potential to improve exports, he added.
