Iran changes renewable power purchase tariffs
Tehran, Iran, Oct.14
Iran's Ministry of Energy has announced new regulations and rates for power purchase guarantee from renewable plants, Trend reports citing official website of Ministry of Energy.
Power purchase guarantee tariffs have increased to provide competitiveness in renewable power industry, the ministry said in the statement.
Iran's Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization has announced that the basic rate of power purchase price has been doubled to reduce the environmental problems in big cities and coastal provinces in Iran.
The power purchase guarantee from wind power plants in Sistan and Baluchestan Province would be increased by 10 percent.
Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization also said it would issue a six month letter of credit for investors, which would be profitable for renewable plants.
Renewable plants that are exporting power to foreign countries are permitted to sell their power to the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization, however they are bounded by the annual current export permit.
