Three men were remanded in custody Thursday by a Danish court on suspicion of planning an attack on a newspaper that published controversial caricatures of the Muslim prophet Mohammed in 2005, DPA reported.
The three, aged 29, 30 and 44, denied the allegations that they were planning to attack the offices of the Jyllands-Posten newspaper but refused to make any further comment during the court hearing.
The three, who lived in neighbouring Sweden, were to be held in custody for four weeks, according to the court ruling.
Prosecutor Lykke Sorensen said they were suspected of terrorist crimes and firearms offences, noting that a submachine gun and a handgun had been seized by police.
The hearing - mainly behind closed doors - was held at the court in Glostrup, west of Copenhagen.
