Greek premier to meet Merkel in Berlin next week
Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou is expected in Berlin on Tuesday for a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, a government spokesman in Berlin said Wednesday, DPA reported
Topics would include Greece's efforts to get its budget under control and implement economic reforms, Steffen Seibert said.
Experts from the "troika" of the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund are expected to arrive in Athens at the beginning of next week to review the country's progress towards its budget targets.
Seibert said the German government would wait for the experts' conclusions before making further decisions concerning Greece.
The German parliament is due to vote on a second bailout package for Greece in the coming weeks.
Germany is the biggest contributor to the EU's bailout fund for Greece.
