Namibia's ruling party South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) launched its election campaign for the forthcoming presidential election on Saturday in the coastal town of Walvis Bay calling for a resounding support from followers, reports Trend referring to Reuters.

SWAPO Secretary General, Sophia Shaningwa told a gathering of almost 10, 000 supporters that their sole candidate in the forthcoming election will be Hage Geingob.

She called for unity and encouraged party supporters to give the ruling party another mandate with a convincing win.

"As the Secretary General I am here to tell you that our only candidate is Hage Geingob and no one else. Give him all the support he needs in the elections," she said.

Namibia heads to the presidential polls on November 27.
