Famous Turkish singer
İbrahim Tatlises who had been shot in the head on Sunday will never sing, his brother Huseyn Tatli said on Monday.
"Even if he recovers his career as a singer is over" Tatli was quoted by Timeturk news agency.
The singer was attacked when performing on a TV show. His assistant was wounded in the shoulder.
Police is looking for assaulters that fired the shots from a black car and escaped from the crime scene.
According to reports the 58-year-old singer was operated on three times and remained in intensive care. Doctors treating the folk singer at Maslak Acibadem hospital said he had suffered brain damage and risks being left paralyzed.
President of Turkey Abdullah Gul said on Monday that he closely followed developments in case of Tatlises, CNN Turk reported.
"I follow the topic closely. I hope he will recover soon," Gul told journalists at the joint press conference with his Croatian counterpart Ivo Josipovic.
Turkish Prime minister Recep Erdogan called the hospital and asked doctors to do whatever they can to save Tatlises' life.
