In September 2019, most of the transit cargo through Turkish ports was transported from Italy, China, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Egypt, Greece and France, Trend reports referring to Turkey's Transport and Infrastructure Ministry.
In September 2019, the volume of transit transshipment from Italy through Turkish ports amounted to about 29.8 million tons.
China ranked second in terms of transit transshipment through Turkish ports with a total volume of nearly 2.2 million tons. Meanwhile, Spain ranked third with a total volume of slightly over 1.9 million tons.
In September 2019, transit cargo transportation through Turkish ports from Russia, Ukraine and Georgia amounted to 1.6 million tons, 1.6 million tons and nearly 1.5 million tons, respectively.
Moreover, in September 2019, over 1.3 million tons of transit cargo were shipped from Romania through Turkey's ports, while amount of transit cargo from Egypt, Greece and France amounted to 1.24 million tons, 1.23 million tons and 1.1 million tons, respectively.
In September 2019, the total volume of transit cargo shipped through Turkish ports amounted to almost 56 million tons.
